Baby Found in the Middle of Bleecker Street- Mother Claims Car Doors are Unreliable and Thinks Baby Wasn’t Strapped in Properly

The mother of the nine-month-old baby found lying in the middle of Utica’s Bleecker street tells Newschannel 2 the child’s aunt put him in her car that night. The car seat was secured to the back seat, but she thinks the baby wasn’t strapped in the seat.

Twenty-seven-year-old Ledrika Ford says the doors on her 10-year-old car are unreliable and open when she turns. Ford is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and is due in Utica city court March 23rd.
