MCSPCA Garage Sale

From 9:00AM to 1:00PM

The Montgomery County SPCA will hold its annual Garage Sale to benefit the homeless pets of the MCSPCA Animal Shelter. The new location for this year’s sale is 10 Columbia Street in Amsterdam. A wide variety of new and gently-used items will be available. Seasonal items, furniture, jewelry, household items, small appliances, decorative items, entertainment items and much more will be offered for sale. Donations of urgently-needed items for the animal shelter will also be collected during the garage sale. These items include Purina Dry Cat Chow, clay cat litter, unscented bleach and laundry detergent. In addition, tickets will be available to the quilt raffle. E Herkimer Vol Fire Dept 5K Race Fundraiser

Join us for our 3rd annual 5k road race fundraiser for the East Herkimer Volunteer Fire Department. – The race begins at 9am along the side street of the Fire Station (193 Main Rd, Herkimer) and the award ceremony will be held at 10am to award the cash prizes to the Top Overall Male & Top Overall Female finishers. Medals will also be awarded to the Top Age Group finishers. Free event t-shirts will be given to the first 50 registrants. Sign up fee is $25 – $5.00 DISCOUNT FOR ALL ACTIVE OR RETIRED MILITARY & FIRST RESPONDERS. Day of race sign-ups will be available only from 7:30am to 8:30am (race bib pickup same time). The Broadalbin VFW is having a craft & vendor fair. 50 handcrafted plus 15 direct sales vendors, bounce house, raffles, food, kids activities. 100% of the booth fees benefit the local girl scout troop.

Out of the Darkness Mohawk Valley Community Walk

Wild West Day

How about a day of family fun at Wild West Day at the Schoharie Fire Station! Fire truck rides, line dancing, Chinese auction, food, games, 50-50, and smoke house demonstrations. Admission is by donation to benefit the Schoharie Fire Department.

Memorial Ride for Michaela MacVilla

A memorial ride for Mikayla MacVilla will meet at the Dog House, 409 South Main Street in Gloversville at 11am, ride starts at Noon with a stop in St. Johnsville, then back to the Dog House. Any donations will benefit the local domestic violence shelter.

Ride For Jacob

The first annual Ride For Jacob will begin at Noon behind Joan’s Diner on Oneida Street in Chadwicks. Jacob is just 8 years old and will be starting radiation soon for a brain tumor. Homeless Veterans Benefit

ANA Memorial Walk

Angel Names Association (ANA) will hold its 13th Annual Memorial Walk at Saratoga State Spa Park in Saratoga Springs. In recognition of National Pregnancy and Infant Death Month (October) – the walk’s goal is to increase awareness and provide support to all those touched by the loss of a child. Registration begins at noon at the Columbia Pavilion and the walk starts at 1:30 pm. The day includes music by Tailspin, children’s crafts, refreshments, a non-denominational memorial ceremony , and wonderful opportunities to remember a child whose life touched yours.
