The Joseph Michael Chubbuck Foundation invites you to Rome Country Club to golf for those fighting cancer. Interested golfers can register themselves or teams online at www.thejmcf.org under the Events tab or by calling 315-339-5993 weekdays 9am -5pm. Registration the day of the event begins at 7:30am. There will be shot gun start at 8:30am. The registration fee is $80 per player (teams of 4). Skins & Mulligans are optional. Last year 17 teams attended the event and the Foundation’s goal is 20 teams for 2019. Coffee, OJ, and donuts will be served at the start, followed by a light lunch at the turn, and a buffet (including desserts) at the conclusion. The top 3 teams will receive a Cash Prize & Awards will be presented for Longest Drive (male & female) and Closest to the Hole. Several nice door prizes will be available along with a Hole in One prize. All golfers will be given commemorative shot glass, golf tees, and team picture. REGISTRATION IS CURRENTLY OPEN at www.thejmcf.org under Events. Tournament proceeds will financially assist cancer patients living in or being treated within Oneida, Herkimer, Madison & Onondaga Counties. The foundation works with MVHS, SDMG, Bassett Cancer Center in Herkimer, Upstate Cancer Center & their local affiliate Offices, Dana Faber Cancer Center, CNY Hematology/Oncology, Roswell Park, MSK, & University of Rochester Wilmont Cancer Center. To date, the Foundation has assisted hundreds of patients and awarded approximately $180,000 thanks to support for the local community.
Oppenheim Historical Society town wide garage sales will be held on Route 29 between Dolgeville and Johnstown. Food, raffles, and maps available at the town barn, and the Oppenheim Volunteer Fire Company will have a chicken barbecue.
The Montgomery County SPCA’s 1st annual “The Fast and the Furriest” 5K Run fundraiser isat Riverlink Park in Amsterdam. Fee is $20. All friendly dogs on leashes are welcome to participate. Awards will be given. The event precedes the city’s Riverfest that afternoon in the park.

Tours of the 1834 Herkimer County Jail in Herkimer will be given during the village's "Herkimer Diamond Days." Tours will be on the hour, beginning at 10 a.m. with the last tour at 2 p.m. You will be able to visit the jail cell of Chester Gillette, one of their most famous inmates whose murder case spurred the novel "An American Tragedy" and the Hollywood film "A Place in the Sun." That evening, from 6:30-8:00 p.m., at the Herkimer Marina the band "Yesterday's Senior Ensemble" will be playing old time favorites and a "Doris Day Tribute." It will be held in the Gazebo of the Waterfront Grille. In the event of rain, it will be held in the Historic Terminal Building at the site. A free will donation offering will be taken for the "Friends of Historic Herkimer County," a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization who are renovating the 1834 Herkimer County Jail to save this historic building.
