The Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks, will present the Disney fantasy adventure, "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms." The movie will be shown at The Strand Theatre in Old Forge. Doors open at 10:00 AM, when Santa arrives. The event is for children 12 and under with adult supervision. There is no admission charge for children or adults and the children will each receive a drink and popcorn at no charge. Also, the children will receive gifts and books.
Azalea Cooldige is a 3 year old girl fighting for her life—again. This is her 2nd battle against cancer, and a fundraiser is being held at the Johnstown Eagles Club, 12 South William Street, Johnstown. Food, drinks, raffles, face painting, bake sale, and much more.
The Jordanville Federated Church is continuing its series of "Literary Teas" in the Social Hall of the church at 209 Main Street, Jordanville. Come enjoy an afternoon of a traditional High Tea (three courses) and readings of short stories appropriate to the Holiday season by local author Terry Berkson.. Take some time away from the shopping, gift wrapping and baking and spend a few hours relaxing with tea, food and entertainment. All are encouraged to attend. A free will offering (suggested donation of $9.00) will be taken and divided between the church and the Jordanville Public Library. A one day bus trip to Vermont will depart from Clinton and Herkimer. The bus will visit Weston in the morning, home of the Vermont Country Store, where you will find unique gifts for family and friends. In the afternoon, you will have the option to stop at Manchester for the best outlet shopping in Vermont or visit Hildene, the home of Robert Todd Lincoln, decorated as the family might have done when they stayed there for the holidays in 1912. The cost is $50.00/person and if you wish to visit Hildene, it is $65.00. The trip is a fundraiser for the Dolgeville Forward C.A.T. Project.
