The 7th annual “Redneck Truck Pulls” are Saturday, October 13th, at the Mountain Man Hunting Club, Route 163 in Fort Plain. Admission $5, children 10 and under free. Registration at 9am, pull starts at 10. Food available. Proceeds benefit the Hunting Club scholarship fund. No coolers.

Bake Sale

Bake sale at NBT Bank, Route 20 in Sharon Springs, to benefit the Magic of Sharon Springs Give Back program, to help a local family in need for the holidays.

Model Railroad Show

From 10:00AM to 3:00PM

The Remsen Arts Center presents the second Annual Remsen Model Railroad Show. Free General Admission with a suggested donation of $5. There will be 3 operating layouts, videos, and train books, covering many facets of railroading. Those interested in participating with a model train display or layout, or selling model train related items may call 315-831-2787. Chicken BBQ

The Van Hornesville Volunteer Fire Department is having a Chicken Barbecue at the Meeting Hall in Starkville, formerly the old Lutheran Church. Dinner includes half chicken, baked potato, cole slaw, baked beans, roll, brownie, and beverage. $8 adults; halves $5. Eat in or take out.

Fritter Supper

From 4:30PM to 7:30PM

The 13th Annual Fall Fritter Supper held in the Social Hall of Jordanville Federated Church, 209 Main Street, Jordanville. Fritters with real maple syrup, scalloped potatoes with ham, green beans, coleslaw, applesauce and desserts make up the menu. For those who have never had them, Fritters are a batter that is deep fried. They form irregularly shaped balls like a deep fried pancake, that when covered in maple syrup are simply delicious. Adults, $11.00; Children under 12, $5.50; Children under 5, Free. Take outs add $.50 container fee.

Pink Tie Gala

Believe 271 and the Oneida County Volunteer Firemen’s Association have teamed up to bring a night of dinner, dancing, and enjoying the camaraderie of your neighbors. Join us at Harts Hill in for the second annual Pink Tie Gala, a classy firemen’s ball open to anyone to attend and enjoy. The event starts with an open bar from 6:00PM to 7:00PM and a buffet style dinner with carving stations will start after the cocktail hour as we are entertained by DVD the Band. This a semi-formal event; firemen are encouraged to wear their Class A uniforms, for those without uniforms, suits or cocktail dresses are appropriate. Advance sale tickets are available for $60.00 each or can be purchased at the door for $70.00. Tables of 8 can be reserved for $480 (advance purchase only).
