On Tuesday March 20th, the “Talk of the Town” hosts Mark Piersma and Frank Elias will be traveling to the New York State Capitol aboard the “WUTQ Citizen’s Express” brought to you by 95.5FM WUTQ. The purpose of the “Citizen’s Express” is to educate and engage the every day citizen of the Mohawk Valley with their New York State government. Yes, this is your chance to travel to Albany, your chance to interact with elected officials and your chance to see what’s going on for yourself.
Upon arrival, a brief welcome will be followed by a walking tour of the State Capitol. The walking tour will provide information on the Capitol Building itself, structure of the New York State government and an overview of timely issues and activities.
The walking tour will be followed by a “Lunch and Learn” session with various elected officials and other representatives. Officials who may be joining us include: Senator Joseph Griffo, Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi, Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney and others. While this Lunch and Learn session is intended to be informal, it will provide an overview of the NYS Budget, redistricting, Committees, Bills and other issues that may come up.
After lunch, a tour of the State Capitol building will continue and if possible, will include a visit to the Senate and Assembly floor for a photo opportunity with our elected representatives. The “WUTQ Citizen’s Express” will conclude by boarding the bus headed back to Utica at 3:00pm. We anticipate being back in North Utica by 5:00pm.
Cost is $30/person and includes coach bus transportation, lunch with local elected representation and tour of the Capitol Building.
Registrations will be accepted by Check, Cash or Credit Card at the WUTQ Studios:
