Attorney General Plans to Distribute Absentee Ballots to Prevent Coronavirus Spread

New York State’s attorney general wants all eligible voters in the state to automatically be sent an absentee ballot for the upcoming primary election.

Current law requires a reason for a person to receive an absentee ballot. It is hoped this would encourage voters to vote by absentee ballot instead of showing up at the polls and potentially spreading the coronavirus.
