Charges Considered for Off-Duty Deputy’s Weapon Discharge in Camden

CAMDEN – The Oneida County District Attorney’s Office is investigating whether to pursue criminal charges against an Otsego County sheriff’s deputy whose gun discharged at the Grape and Grog Restaurant in Camden Saturday night.

The deputy was off-duty at the time, and the weapon was discharged from inside his pocket.

Two people were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

State Police have handed the investigation over to the DA’s office for further evaluation.
