Recent cases of Coronavirus have impacted the Holland Patent and Remsen school districts.
The Holland Patent School District will not be back in class today.
The superintendent says they decided, in consultation with the county health department, to go to remote learning and no extracurricular activities for the week, after health officials said more time was needed for contact tracing, after learning of three positive cases in the district, last week.
The Remsen Central School District has learned of a positive case as well.
The superintendent says only the elementary building is affected, and that those who may have had direct contact with the person will be notified by the health department or the school district.
The district has disinfected the buildings over the weekend, in addition to normal, regular sanitizing.
Those not contacted by the district or health department can attend in-person instruction, per their regular schedular.
