Horse Racing Resumes Today at Vernon Downs, but without Fans

VERNON – Racing can return to Vernon Downs today – except fans will be cheering their support at monitors, not at real horses in person.

There will be no live fans, either; money will come through televised simulcast contracts.

Governor Andrew Cuomo says tracks without fans is a way for businesses to make money, without putting the general public at risk.

The Governor has also announced that Watkins Glen International Auto Racing Track can reopen today, also without fans.
