UTICA – The Innocence Project may examine a 45-year-old local murder.
An attorney on behalf of the Project has asked the Oneida County District Attorney for transcripts, statements, photos, and other evidence from the 1975 murder trial of Bernard Hatch, which lasted three months.
Hatch, now 80, has been in state prison since 1975 for the 1973 murder of Mary Turner.
In 208, the Innocence Project helped secure the exoneration of Steven Barnes, who was wrongfully convicted in the death of teenage Kimberly Simon in 1985.
