Man in Critical Condition as Utica Police Investigate 2 Shooting Incidents

UTICA – One man is in critical condition today after Utica police responded to two separate shooting incidents in the city Tuesday.

Utica police arrived at the 100 block of James Street around 8:30 pm last night to find a man lying on the sidewalk, with several gunshot wounds.

He underwent surgery at St. Elizabeth Medical Center last night and was in critical condition.

Utica police are investigating.

Just a few hours before the James Street shooting, however, Utica police went to a shots-fired call on Lincoln Avenue.

A male victim told them he was having an argument with someone over an ongoing issue, and the person fired a shotgun in his direction, then struck him in the face with the gun.

This investigation is ongoing, as well.
