Picente Highlights Revenue Problem, Cuts & Possible Borrowing in Coronavirus Aftermath

UTICA – Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente on Wednesday welcomed County Legislators to their first in-person meeting in chambers since March 11.

He told them in order to recover from the Coronavirus pandemic, he’s asking for a 15 percent reduction in next year’s budget, offering early retirement to about 130 employees, and he says the County could end up having to borrow money to pay its bills, come fall.
