Police Raids on Convenience Stores in Utica Seize Illegal Items

UTICA – Utica Police, in conjunction with the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, State Police, IRS, U.S. Marshal’s Service and State Department of Taxation and Finance, raided several convenience stores at 1400 Kemble St. along with 1316, 1331 and 1321 Oneida St.

During the raids on Wednesday, authorities seized 47 cartons of unstamped cigarettes, 14 packages of synthetic marijuana and $45,000 cash.

Charges in addition to tax code violations and possession of unstamped cigarettes, are possible.
