UTICA – Several fire departments are at the scene of a massive fire at the former Charlestown complex on Bleecker Street in East Utica.
The vacant complex lies partly in Utica, but mostly in Frankfort.
The flames were first reported around 1:30 am this morning, and Utica’s Fire Chief Scott Ingersoll says all five floors burned in the rear of the building.
The fire chief says smoke and ash are covering the lower part of East Utica and air quality will be affected.
Chief Ingersoll says the building could burn for as long as two days.
