The North Country is now considered in severe drought, with a long-term, significant drop in the water table.
The drought is much less severe in the Mohawk Valley and almost non-existent south of the valley.
Cooler weather will slow its progress. But since it’s a long-term drought, it will take a long-term change in the weather pattern for things to return to normal.
